on reading biographies
So do biographies by definition have depressing endings?
How about autobiographies?
I only wonder on account of dreading the last chapters of Short Nights of the Shadow Catcher.

Not depressing at all, but I suppose it's in the way you read it. Didn't e.e. die when he went out to chop wood? A happy death indeed.
