Another question: Do I take the screens out for the winter or not? I did last year, but it seemed pointless. . .

I prefer the view w/o the screens. They are a necessity in the summer, but wouldn't life be better w/o them?

For us it is a question of the wind...can they blow out? always a better view without them....
I don't have the words to express the first one. How about envious. Wishing I was there. Great shot.
Don't need to take screens out if they are covered by your storm windows. They wont blow away but check out it they are protected from the rain adequately. It all rots eventually unless you seal or paint regularly.
