season's greetings

Well, I guess you're all doing the same thing I am: Busily making heart-shaped cakes and frosting them in pink sprinkles, putting them on doilies and writing thoughtful notes to all of those I love. They're in the mail.

I thought the plan was to put slimy previously living creatures in our mouths instead!

And on another subject... it's supposed to snow ALL DAY in Madison, Georgia.

No school for Dakota.

Is the barbed wire & copper pipe a nod to your Ozarkian roots? Is that you in the pic?

Uh Oh. Hope the barbed wire is Not collected to the pink cupcakes.

BTW: TOMORROW is the day to make Valentine treats, so you still have time to make that 18 egg white angel food cake and ship it here.

We have 2 inches of the most gorgeous snow. Think lavish immaculate tufts on each twig. Think snow falling with a plop onto more snow. Think soft white landscape with touches of black and grey. Wonderful to watch it accumulate. it'll be gone by nightfall.

For those who are interested:
This picture is a photograph made by Chris Garrison of an angel on a tombstone. He split it into squares and framed it in this barbed wire when he was younger and probably more metaphorical than he is today. Life and death and love get so much more real as you age, do they not?
And yes, my Poet, you have heard that love hurts, have you not?
