Leonard Bucknor, an artist and a gentleman

In memorium.  Mr. Bucknor, aka The Captain—and to his children, Christine, Ann, Carla, Patricia, and Wayne, "Daddy"—was a loving and lovable person. We were lucky to know him, and will miss him always.

Art made of bamboo roots.

The Captain holds court on his veranda at Dowling House.
On one of many road trips where he took care of us all.

As I told Claudia when she told me of Leonard's passing, he was the one of the sweetest I ever knew, and I add now, a captain of his soul, he will be missed.

The gentlest storm you'll ever meet. He epitomizes a great man, I call him father, the Universe has been good to you and your memories are indelible. Miss you Daddy.

His wonderful work fills my life with joy every time I look at it which is often! I never met him in person but can see he was handsome and his work speaks loudly to me of a great connection to what is so important in my life...the invention of love with incredible colors and use of natural shapes. yeah Thank you Leonard !!!
