What are these?
These are morels, the most desirable mushroom after truffles, pretty much. They only pop up this time of year.
Nom nom nom! Chanterelles show up maybe one year in five in the north woods of ME, but one summer on Deer Island friends led me to a pine wood with literally bushels for the picking. Heaven. -Monte
