sexing the rose

On the way to the mainland for a sonogram. . .
As Chris got back on the road to take his carload of females (girl wife, girl baby, girl dog) back home, I went out on the dock to wait for the boat back to the island and sat between Hopefull and Dragon Lady. I thought a little tearily that Hannah was lucky to have her own darling daughterflower—I have certainly been fortunate in mine.
Still, I hope theirs wants to play Barbies and wear pink tutus.

I am loving the posts, especially today! Congrats to all. Barbies and Tutus?? She will probably have her own Barbie fashion line by age 2, given her gene pool. Go Gran!

It skips generations, you know.

Did you have barbies and tutus?

I don't know about you, but my daughter is more like my mother was than I am.

I used to burn my dolls and refused to wear skirts.

My daughter has (yes, I saved them) about 100 barbies. And many tutus.

And she is exceedingly happy it's going to be a girl. "Oh, more of US!" she says.

Yaaaaaay! I could toss a pretty mean baseball as a kid, but over the years I got to much prefer painting my toe-nails, decorating cookies, SHOPPING, obsessing about my hair, making up fancy designs entwining my boy friend's and my initials, all while talking on my princess phone. Life Skills that I love passing on to the next generation. Still have trouble with pink, but hey, one adapts. We are so, so happy for everybody.
