fair warning: on block island or manhattan or in missouri, we can be a little salty

love thy neighbor
Sunday in Rover, Mo., where the church and gun club are comveniently located next to one another. I say, outlaw guns and legalize marijuana (and tax the shit out of it). But what do I know? I'm just a damn liberal.
I can see many parallels between life in the South, and life in the Alaska I knew 35 years ago.
I don't know what it's like up there now, but in those days Frontier Justice still reigned.
Everyone carried a gun. If there was a dispute, you simply shot it out.
Somehow, it was a refreshing change from using lawyers and money to settle arguments.
Now one big difference is, or rather, was, that every other building in downtown Kodiak was either a bar or a liquor store. In the South, every other building is a church.
So it would seem that, in Missouri at least, the twain have met.

Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition
ReplyDeleteI so have a new plan.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to buy or rent the gas station in Thomasville and turn it into a church/ gunstore.
Oops! I forgot. Certain people, who will be my immediate neighbor, do not believe in God, and hate guns.
Well, hell. I love both.
I think, given the location, it's a winning combination. Sort of the Big Mac and Fries of Love and Justice.
