exhumed treasures

Yes, I know they are creepy, but la Otra Rubia wanted me to take a picture of them, and it is her birthday today, so happy birthday to you.
We were poking through the detritus of a life—well, two lives, really, (and bringing rather more of it home than I had expected to)—the other day and I reached the conclusion that we have too much stuff. It's been said before, but you so can't take it with you. So I have vowed to deacquisition for everything I acquire. Or buy another house to put it in. . .

  1. This is SO appropriate. I have a beautiful cottage I rent in prestigious Redding, Ct.

And, it's Christmas! The perfect time to undertake massive emotionally charged projects.

So, in light of your proposal, part B, I propose that rather than help me move out of my cottage between December 25 and Hannah's birthday, you simply move all your detritus in with mine.

And you know what?? In the season finale of one of my favourite shows... Boston Legal.. two heterosexual best friends get married for, primarily, friendship and material gain.

    So, what do you say?

We could be a caretaking couple for, like, real!

So should I ask you here, or in person?

All other interested parties, stand aside.

  3. Then you'd be my stepmother!

But you'd have to change your name to Lynn.

  4. But, It would be much more shocking if you became a man--and were my stepfather! I have never had one of those!!! Oh my gosh, how exciting!

  5. Excuse me. This is my life you are discussing.
    Do not want a dog.
Do not want to be married.
    Thank you.

  6. I will put in a call to Nape Waste. (spelling).

But, I don't WANT to be a man.

Maybe I should just get a dog, instead.

  8. this is a really hot blog day....hot issues...not sure where I stand ...lose a friend gain a couple? gee I know how much being a couple means to you miss c but don't let that get in the way of this wonderful solution to all material problems...I had two tag sales last summer and ALL the stuff I could not emotionally throw away I sold for $1 to someone who promised to love it... those dolls could find a good home for $1 (not mine)
