 I paused when I saw the amazing opening painting in a review of Jasper Johns' recent work. Then I read the review, which I don't often do, and saw the painting above. Because of the reference to Burrows, whose son I know from Life  magazine, I looked up the photograph Johns was inspired to paint from. The story of Farley's mission in Vietnam more than 50 years ago is heartbreaking and can be revisited in this article.
     Just synchronicity that another doomed mission in Vietnam was going on at the same time I was reading it.

I think I actually like this rendering better than the first one, but both are awesome.
