Is this a truck or a traveling greenhouse/ Chinese antique store?
I forgot to say when I pulled into the motel last night, the young female clerk and I had a slight mis- understanding.
Me: And can I pull my truck up to the door?
She (displaying map): Well, there's a spot you can park over here.
Me: I thought you said I could pull up to the door.
She: Well how big is your truck?
Me (realizing she was envisioning a tractor trailer): No no! It's just a pickup!
Almost as difficult a transaction as returning the propane tank to Walmart.
ReplyDeleteIt's the self-image thing I'm struggling with. Truck driver??
ReplyDeleteI can understand.
ReplyDeleteIt's like when I'm at Home Depot, and someone asks me:"Sir... do you know where the chainsaws are?"
Or maybe the girl was just reading the Akasha. I mean, remember our plan to get bonded and get PAID for moving stuff from point A to point B?
"B&C Five Star Movers"
Our motto: "We can get it there... maybe."
We would so need to drive major rigs.
So maybe this is one of life's critical moments. A turning point, you know?
ReplyDeleteYour mother once pointed out to you that a little makeup and a girdle go a long way.
So what will it be? "Her tail lights flickered, as she pulled up to the truckstop" or:
"I feel pretty."
I think you just don't realize how many people take driving a pickup truck for granted as just another vehicle just about the same size as all american cars nowadays...I wonder what the ratio of pickup trucks to cars on the road is? Or am I nuts?
ReplyDeleteSo what was I supposed to call the vehicle? My car?
ReplyDeletewell I guess you are right it was a misunderstanding..mine too...ok ok I get it now....she thought you were a truck driver? like you had a big rig out there or something? next lifetime....
