first pass

It was really more like dusting with a brush than painting —sorry spiders— and it takes a long time to get in those little crannies and around the rows of shingle nails. Yes, the windows need doing, but I have to let the rotten northerly sashes dry out (given recent weather, good luck!) before doing them. And I can't even think about the ceiling. For consistency, the walls now have to get done before season. Worth it?

  1. Probably.

But the problem is, once you've done the walls and they look great, the ceiling, unless you do it too, will look dreadful. At least, that's been my experience a number of times.

    Like, oh dear.

You could always sheet rock the ceiling. Or say "To Hell with it", and head south.

  3. I totally plan to paint the ceiling—maybe in the fall or next spring. I keep having so many dang houseguests I just don't think I'll have TIME to paint the ceiling before June. There's a lot of ceiling. . .
