Every month the
Phoenix missile works club gets together in the cotton fields south of Talladega to shoot off rockets they've crafted. Propelled by nitrates, sugar and who knows what else, some shoot thousands of feet into the air. It's fun for the whole family. When asked if he'd seen the movie
Rocket Boys, one man said, "That there is the story of my life—except the NASA part of it."
