What I did instead of what I was supposed to be doing this weekend.
Other activities: Crossword puzzle, Sunday paper, web news updates, long phone calls, and reading four books at the same time— two fiction, two non, which I suppose means I'm not totally into any of them.
What did you accomplish this weekend?
Built a PVC tube xylophone a al Blue Man. Not as hard as you'd think...

Welded on the calf feeder that the cow dragged and broke cause she stuck her head in to lick some feed but got stuck. This Monday morning went to feed and the cows knocked over the freeze proof waterer and gallons of water were running into the field, went to open the gate and the bottom bolt fell out, found a calf stuck in the round hay feeder and had to chain the Gator to the feeder and spook the calf so he got his hips loose from the bars...farm life is an addiction.
ReplyDeleteWent to car dealerships to look at the Honda Element. Just like my Dad.
ReplyDeleteThrew out old crap to make way for new crap. Reduced 7 lbs of chicken wings to 2 gallons of stock. Got shocked by a not-so-old vacuum cleaner. (Claudia, I'm tossing that thing out.) Aborted a trip to the lumberteria and helped a friend prep walls so he can hang his new, home-made kitchen pantry cabinets. Realized the baseboard moldings I want will be too thick when they meet my door frames. Help.
ReplyDeletePut more molding on the door frames—moldings are a rotten carpenter's best friend. Sorry I don't have my nail gun here. You can use glue.
ReplyDeleteOr use cheesy baseboards. Or just ignore the detail. . .
Dunno about baseboards, but I'd be happy to take that old vacuum. Does it come with the "part that cleans the floor" attachment?
ReplyDeleteIt's a shocker. It's shocked me 3 times now. And it sparked once. I've thrown it out. It never did work right. I bought it at a junky store. It was sold as new but think it was reconditioned. Badly.
ReplyDeleteYou should get a new one. They're cheap. Eureka.com
p.s. In case any cooks are reading this, I turned 17 (not 7) lbs of wings into 2 gallons of stock.
