This is not a classic Pittsburgh bar, though Oceangurl and I went to one of those, too, and the guys in there were nice enough. She talked sports with them, although they were not Red Sox fans. (Look out, Dolores.) No, the bar above, like the neighborhood it's in, is aspirational, Which may have something to do with why Oceangurl feels like a shorebird out of water. You never know, though, it may rub off and she may decide to become a player in the getting-and-spending arena.
Oceangurl is visiting Pittsburgh.
ReplyDeleteOcengurl lives in Pittsburgh.
Aspirations for oceangurl?
To aspire to the first sentence.
Hey.."Just a small town girl on a saturday night, looking for the fight of her life".
ReplyDeleteYou know, the song "Maniac".. the one I used in Flashdance..was originally written about a killer. We had it re-written to suit the dance script. So, talk about your karma, your syncronicity. We have Pittsburg, we have the dance, we have the killer (see my plot outline on WICCS, Sept.3.. under Smokin Pa). Oceangurl, Give me an hour-long episode that ties it all in. If I like what you give me, we'll make it a two episode season premier thing.
Brad would have to play the lead ..Pittsburgh..Pitt..thekarma is obvious. The girl is Anjolie that likes to dance and carries a switchblade in her boots. She also has an obsession with tatoos and vials of blood. They meet and connect over malboros. He wants to dance like her but being a white man with limited ability he finds frustration in his clumsy attempts to become a chippendale dancer. The other lady in his life is actually his mother that left him as a child and the reason why he cannot kill her. He finds this out in the last minute of the film after killing anjolie for her boots...close-up on his face contorted in pain with the steel mills in the background while he screams why over and over again.
ReplyDeleteI worked at Soba when I went to school in Pittsburgh...cool to see that window again...brings me back, thanks....
